This Privacy Policy explains what information DishGuessr (“we”, “us”) collects when you use https://dishguessr.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little personal data as possible.

Information we collect

• Gameplay data. When you play, we process the guesses and scores needed to run the game. In multiplayer, the display name you choose and the lobby code you share are visible to other players in your lobby.
• Preferences. We store your language preference in your browser's local storage so the game remembers it on your next visit.
• Technical data. Like most websites, our providers may automatically receive standard technical information such as your browser type, approximate region, and device type in order to serve and secure the site.

We do not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for your name, email address, or payment details to play.

DishGuessr uses browser local storage to remember your preferences. Third-party services we use (described below), including advertising, may set cookies or similar technologies on your device. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time.

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements, which helps keep DishGuessr free. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

• Supabase hosts our database and powers real-time multiplayer.
• Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights collect aggregate, privacy-friendly usage and performance metrics.
• Sentry collects anonymised error reports so we can fix bugs.
• Google AdSense serves advertising, as described above.

Children

DishGuessr is a general-audience game and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
